I was disappointed with book 3 of the series Let me explain why.1 the first 4 sections seemed to drag on The pace was slow and I nearly put the book down.2 it seemed like several of the rescue scenes happened too easily The conflict built but it resolved way too easily3 too much detail during the plan of the attack4 since it had been a long time since i read the last book in the series, I had forgotten who all the kids were There was no reintroduction of any of them and I was confused T I was disappointed with book 3 of the series Let me explain why.1 the first 4 sections seemed to drag on The pace was slow and I nearly put the book down.2 it seemed like several of the rescue scenes happened too easily The conflict built but it resolved way too easily3 too much detail during the plan of the attack4 since it had been a long time since i read the last book in the series, I had forgotten who all the kids were There was no reintroduction of any of them and I was confused They became just a string of characters I still don t remember Abigal or Jack or several of the others even at the end of the book It felt like the characters were used for their roles but weren t developed as individual characters, but just a group

Michael and his friends managed to rescue his mother but now the group is separated in the Peruvian jungle Taylor s group is captured by the Peruvian army with ties to Elgen Initially, Michael is laying low with an indigenous tribe where he meets another electro kid, Tesla Eventually, Jamie collects them to travel through the jungle and try to rescue Taylor s group The Voice has given Michael a new mission to sink the Ampere the Elgen s main vessel before it leaves Peru and Michael wil Michael and his friends managed to rescue his mother but now the group is separated in the Peruvian jungle Taylor s group is captured by the Peruvian army with ties to Elgen Initially, Michael is laying low with an indigenous tribe where he meets another electro kid, Tesla Eventually, Jamie collects them to travel through the jungle and try to rescue Taylor s group The Voice has given Michael a new mission to sink the Ampere the Elgen s main vessel before it leaves Peru and Michael will need everyone s help to do so.Alright, so the third book in the series and I m still enjoying it Considering that the characters spend most of their time either locked up or traipsing through the jungle, there is still a lot of action that occurs They don t actually start their real mission with the Ampere until the 3 4 mark The characters grow up a lot in this book, especially when tragedy strikes The Elgen suffer too in this book but are not defeated Michael and his friends still have work to do As much as I love this series, I am going to take a brief break from it and hope to pick up book 4 later in the summer I m hoping that one of my kids might catch up to me so we can read it together

I wanted to love this book like I love the first two, but I was really disappointed Plot was good Mr Hatch was still evil bastard, but the pacing was slow For someone with so much power, Mike doesn t use it He sneaked aroundthan anything There were other problems such as , the lack of action, there was no real threat, no superpower fights There were only a tiny little firefight here and there There is no huge payoffs at the end that makes the reader wants to read the next book It I wanted to love this book like I love the first two, but I was really disappointed Plot was good Mr Hatch was still evil bastard, but the pacing was slow For someone with so much power, Mike doesn t use it He sneaked aroundthan anything There were other problems such as , the lack of action, there was no real threat, no superpower fights There were only a tiny little firefight here and there There is no huge payoffs at the end that makes the reader wants to read the next book It was like Mr Evan just decided write a story really fast There was no heart, no soul, just as shell of a book Oh and Taylor is stupid yeah I really didn t like this book it was just right I really hope this is last book of series, because this is weakest of the three I don t know if I am going to read the next one

I really loved the first two books in this series and I will say the third one was very good too But, since there WILL be a fourth book, I hope it doesn t go downhill like the Maximum Ride series.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here I have a lot of thoughts about this book Please scroll for spoilers THINGS I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK I like how hard the Electroclan worked to do all that they had to do.I love that Michael learnedabout his magnetic powers and practiced how to use them.I liked the Voice and how they helped the Electroclan I liked the relationship between Taylor and Michael.I loved the character, Jamie and I was glad he was good for his word Tessa was a cool, new character I liked her power and how it e I have a lot of thoughts about this book Please scroll for spoilers THINGS I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK I like how hard the Electroclan worked to do all that they had to do.I love that Michael learnedabout his magnetic powers and practiced how to use them.I liked the Voice and how they helped the Electroclan I liked the relationship between Taylor and Michael.I loved the character, Jamie and I was glad he was good for his word Tessa was a cool, new character I liked her power and how it effected the others I liked Taylor s role, and how she became the group s leader during the time she Michael were separated.I m okay that Hatch escaped, I get that we don t want the series to be overwith although, it wouldbe nice if the kids could at least see their families for a day between life or death missions.THINGS I COULDN T BLAME THE CHARACTERS FOR When half of the Electroclan decided they had had enough, I didn t blame them and I think that was realistic. When they whined Tessa, for when she was grumpy.Things I thought were sad, but realistic When all the Amacarratribesmen were slaughtered So sad, but what I would expect. When Wade died this was very realistic for how much danger they were in to loose one of the group. When the rocks wouldn t slide down the road to jailbreak their friends while they were being transferred by the Peruvian Army.WHAT DISAPPOINTED ME The way Hatch took over the Board You would think there would be better security to protect the board and that they would have a hidden gun to protect themselves nearby, something to defend themselves I also thought Hatch would have been a littleeloquent with his plan to take over vs just killing people It felt unoriginal. How much fighting to save the world can a group of teenagers withstand and not have a mental breakdown They had to push so hard for so long, it seemed like too much to me they had to be ready to drop physically, emotionally and mentally And, yet, they are ready to move on to the next mission with no downtime Also, since Michael had left the ipod in one of the trucks, I was surprised that the Elgen were not able to do somedestruction to the Voice since they finally realized they had a resistance fighting them I don t want the Voice to be hurt, but honestly, it seems that GPS signals could have been traced It felt like a key piece of information that just happened to not have extensive backlash for all of the good guys. There was so much build up to the very end, and then it felt very rushed to me It was at 85% and they had not attacked the Ampere yet I think there should have beenof a confrontation with Hatch and that the whole end piece should have been paced a little better Where were the other electric kids that Hatch has a tight leash on I thought they would have been present for the final battle I think it tied up a little too perfect in the end with the predictable ending of the remaining Electroclan kids coming back to help fight.I felt like the last few pages were rushed to throw in the cliffhanger plot for the next book It would have beenmeaningful to me if it were built up a littleand had some foreshadowing RPE needs to slow down the endings and pick up the pacing in the first half of the book, and build the plot for future booksthan 3 pages before the ending It s hard to be vested in a cliffhanger ending when the newest conflict barely arises that is completely different and never before mentioned until the very last few pages I don t feel as though I will be dying for the next book to come out Sure, I will read it, but I m not dying for it to come out, now Just my 2 cents

I love the magnetic power It s such a cool thing that he used it to climb up the sides of a boat All the secondary characters are really fun and add so much to the story This cover is gorgeous too

I ll say 4.5 stars This picks up right where Book 2 left off At the beginning, Michael is in the jungle and joins a new electric kid Meanwhile, the rest of the Electroclan has been picked up by the Peruvian army for terrorism The biggest action in the book is their attempts to escape and ultimately reunite with Michael At that point, the kids are very emotionally strained, and we have a breaking of the fellowship type moment Meanwhile, Hatch furthers his evil schemes, which Michael is ca I ll say 4.5 stars This picks up right where Book 2 left off At the beginning, Michael is in the jungle and joins a new electric kid Meanwhile, the rest of the Electroclan has been picked up by the Peruvian army for terrorism The biggest action in the book is their attempts to escape and ultimately reunite with Michael At that point, the kids are very emotionally strained, and we have a breaking of the fellowship type moment Meanwhile, Hatch furthers his evil schemes, which Michael is called upon to interfere with The actual battle of the Ampere at the end is pretty brief, and the last page sets up the next book. While the book is full of action, there areemotional hardships going on for everyone The chapters get very short, which might make the story feel choppy to some I am looking forward toof the story to come

I really love this series, sure its a bunch of rag tagged teens with amp ed up powers and a few non amp ed But they have some everyday problems in the midst of trying to save the world from a threat You really need to read these in order to see the group develop and understand the threat.
