SimpleTough guy Apparently attractive to women Drunk No job won lottery Dead wife Dog Solves murder by listening to murderer confess There s the whole story. Not much smirking thankfully , but lots of winking Seems like one or the other in these low cost books.

I love the Dan Coast books One of my favorite series The characters seem like old friends The main character Dan Coast is great even though he acts like a jerk sometimes I would recommend this series of books to everyone

Beach bum fantasyDefinitely male humor and point of view, but not a bad story Sort of a long anecdote told casually, but I liked the dog.

Good mystery with sarcastic humorGreat laid back mystery set in Key West Has just the right balance of humor and mystery with emotional depth This book has all the expected Key West book characteristic cool bar, cast of great friends who are just a little different, and that laid back beach feel I can honestly say this book made both laugh and cry and I rarely read a book that can do that.

Decent PlotAlthough the plot was decent, it was a little predictable That s fine with me, but there s WAY too much profanity, most for no reason except just to be there The book could, also, use a proofreader Lots of improper word usage, wrong tense, wrong or repeated word Bettie Page haircut, is incorrectly spelled Betty Spell check doesn t catch everything Without so much profanity, though, it s good enough I d read book 2.

  9. Drew Drew says:

Sleeping Dogs Lie is a good mix of island lifestyle and mystery The main character, Dan Coast, is a bit of an anti hero but in a likable way and ultimately is a good guy There s a bit of mystery, action and Jimmy Buffett all mixed in and the story is well written If you re looking for some light reading which will take you to the beach and offer up a bit of a mystery look no further

Entertaining and well written.Lovable characters with comedic undertones The story moves along fabulously without periods of boredom The writer keeps it clean and it s an easy read.
