35 Solid StarsI got a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange of an honest reviewOh goodness I simply had to grad this book the moment I learned it was about a haunting and a ghost Paranormal stories with ghosts in them have always been my thing so it's always wonderful to spot a new book with the theme in itRecently coming off from a divorce the last thing MacKenzie expected was for her estranged aunt to leave her Summerfield home in her name It wasn't what Justin Kent was expecting either Returning to Penny Hollow in order to fulfill his own father's dying wish into revitalizing their small town and Summerfield home was promised by the old lady to go to him It's the only thing that stands between him and his family inheritance and MacKenzie Dillon is not willing to sellThe new home has bought back MacKenzie's muse after losing it thanks to her ex husband and a nasty divorce With not much cash into her name MacKenzie finds herself drawn to the house and it's heartbreaking mysteryOh gosh I really did enjoy this book I liked Heather Long's story telling about up until the very end when the back started to move forward in uick snippets and left me a bit puzzle Outside of the uick wrap up and a few confusing moments Haunt Me had the ghosts I wanted to see I enjoyed trying to learn about what happened at the house and to the ghosts that haunts it The story was exciting and touching and the conclusion to MacKenzie's book thought predictable still caught me in a whirlwindI liked the characters Justin mostly Mac had left me uiet angry at times Especially when she started to compare Justin to her ex husband Kevin and took his support for her writing the book and made it out like he was trying to benefit from her writing and money When poor Justin had never given her any reason to outside of the fact that he befriended her in hopes that she would change her mind about selling him the house at firstThe relationship between Mac and Justin was a slow but sweet build up which I definitely did not mind I found myself engrossed in the story until the very end it's just a shame that it seemed to wrap up sohasty

Read for Review NetGalleyOverall Rating 425Story Rating 400Character Rating 450First Thought when Finished Haunt Me was a little bit of everything that I enjoy in aparanormalishcontemporary read mystery romance humor small town ghosts and great charactersNote I think even if you aren't a fan of paranormal reads that you will like Haunt Me because it reads like a contemporary romance Yes the supernatural does play a part but the overall elements remind me of the things I want when I pick up a good contemporary readStory Thoughts I am going to admit I had no idea what to expect when I picked Haunt Me up I couldn't tell if it was paranormal contemporary or something else entirely Turns out it was a little bit of all 3 Haunt Me is one of those stories that you start to guess where it is going and then something happens to make you think maybe not The story is well plotted beautifully written and laid down with a nice foundation of good character interaction that keeps you glued to the pages This is one of those stories that I don't want to give anything away so I will be vague I will say this How come there are no hunky Mr Fix It's living next door to meCharacter Thoughts Characters are what made Haunt Me shine MacKenzie is one of those leading gals that I think all of us can identify with in one way or another She is a bit of a workaholic at loose ends in her personal life and in the midst of a huge change when we meet her Through the story she grows struggles and sometimes does things that make you shake your head Yet through it all you want too root for her Justin is hot Oh I could just stop there but he is also stubborn loyal and super handy He isn't a saint and yes I wanted to slap him for not being upfront with MacKenzie Men Sometimes they are just that way Together they are a great couple Final Thoughts I really liked Haunt Me and hope there are in this series Justin has some family I would love to read about

ARC provided by the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewWowthis was just the kind of book I needed to read With all the great new releases out I have been uite busy trying to keep up and get my reviews in a timely fashion Although most of the books have been fantastic a lot of them have had heavy subject matter I needed something that was light fun and entertaining Haunt Me has all these elements and a good ghost story MacKenzie has inherited her great aunt’s in Penny Hollow After a very nasty divorce she needs a fresh start What better than to move to Penny Hollow A small town is a perfect place to heal recharge and get her life on track She has decided to fix the old house up and finish writing her book She meets her sexy neighbor Justin Kent Justin is a native of Penny Hollow He is an architect and has been working on revitalizing the town of Penny Hollow He has one project left MacKenzie’s house He gladly jumps in to help her fix up her house so that he can move on in his career What starts out for both as a project to get their lives in new directions turns into something Not only are they falling for each other they are being haunted by ghosts that need to fulfill their love before they can move onThis book was entertaining The chemistry between MacKenzie and Justin was sizzling The residents of Penny Hollow were fun and added charm to the story The story is fast paced well written great characterization plenty of action and had a steamy romance I could not put the book down It had everything a reader wants in a book Haunt Me is an amazing tale of second chances new beginnings and a happily ever after love for allI highly recommend Haunt Me

Justin I loved him two days later Justin's anger solved his guilt problem He'd had to read the e mail three times before picking up his cell and calling Clint Who the hell is MacKenzie Dillon? I really did love being in his min sweet to the taste but hiding a powerful punch Kissing her needed to be repeated and soon He's caring she cupped his cheek and he frowned Your hands are freezing and you're bleeding What the hell Mac? He grasped her wrist and pulled it away from his face Her ex husband is seriously a pig I've been calling you for weeks The least you could have done was answer my calls Of course if you're too busy shacking up with the local Mayberry Mr Kent here that explains a lot And Justin he will do anything to protect his lady restraint snapped and Justin slammed his fist into the other man's mouth Kevin went down Get out Get in your car and get the hell out of here

This was such a great read I love the way that Heather writes Everything just goes so smooth flowing from one scene to the next Her characters are always interesting and in this book that's no different Justin starts off at the beginning of this book wanting one thing Somehow everything that he wants changes along the way the he gets to know MacKenzie MacKenzie also has different thoughts when she arrives in Penny Hollow She's just inherited her great aunt's house after a nasty divorce and couldn't use a change of scenery In the beginning she's really distrustful of Justin and I can't say I blame her after her previous relationship But something keeps drawing her and Justin together I really enjoyed the twist that this book had I'm pretty certain I've never read one with that same twist I liked it Keeps me on my toes Great job HeatherI received a copy of this book in return for an honest review

Wow When I started this book I didn't uite know what to think At first I thought it would just be a typical ghost story but boy was I wrong I absolutely loved Justin and Mac and was thrilled to see their story unfold To avoid spoilers I won't go into detail about their relationship but I'll just say that I loved where the author took their story I hadn't read anything like it before and I couldn't put the book down until it was finished So so good I was given an arc to review from the publisher

I think I knew where this book was going from the very beginning and was kinda hoping it wouldn't go there because the predictability was really rubbing me the wrong wayAnd then of course my psychic powers kicked in and exactly what I presumed was going to happen happenedAnd I think that's what really made this book kinda dull for meThe characters were meh The plot was meh The writing was mehNothing really stood out and made this book worth rememberingWas it horrible? No I've just been in a book slump and this book just happens to be a part of it

I received a copy of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewI really love a good ghost story This book was such a treat the whole concept of the novel was so uniue To increase productivity to the town the town council decides to play on the idea that the whole town is haunted There have always been ghost stories associated with Penny Hollow and its inhabitants and they decide to use that to their advantage to make sure the town stayed on the map I loved that name 'Penny Hollow' and when you learn about why the town was originally name this it makes it feel romantic I don't know why but when I was reading about this town and the town council I had pictures of 'The Vicar of Dibley' in my head and imagined their town council meetings to have some uniue characters that are on the Dibley town council There is just something about small towns that I love reading aboutI loved Mac and thought she was so brave to pick up her life and move to a small town When she inherited Summerfield from her great aunt that she had only met once she jumps at the chance because her life had been a bit rough lately She is instantly intrigued with the house and the story of the town and the ghost stories associated with Summerfield After having an experience as a child with a ghost and having heard about the Summerfield ghost from her parents since she was a child she is intrigued to discover all the secrets of the house She soon finds herself connected to the story than she actually realised She is such a strong lady who after a disastrous marriage is doing what she can to be independent So when Justin turns up on her door step she is very skeptical about his intentions Sure she is attracted to him because he is hot but she wants to make a new life and that does not involve a man any time in the futureJustin has always had a passionate relationship with old houses and he often looses himself in restoring them to their former beauty He has since childhood had a connection with Summerfield that he could not explain thinking that Mac's great aunt was going to leave Summerfield to him he is shocked when he discovers that her great niece inherited the house It also seriously messes with his families plans and the town councils plans to utilise the house and its stories for ghost tours After attempting to buy the house from Mac he changes his tactic after she declines a number of times But once he meets her his plans fly out the window because for some reason this woman instantly has a hold on his heart Now the Kent's also have a family curse they get one true love if anything happens to that person or it doesn't work out that is it for them there is no second chance So Justin has always been super careful who he gives his heart too but with Mac he does not have any choice His ideas about becoming her friend and eventually convincing her to sell him her house are now gone when he realises the feeling he has for her are overpowering and also when he learns how her life has lead her to become the owner of this houseThe friendship develops steadily and I love this type of book they don't instantly fall into bed with each other or let passion take over they learn about each other they become friends and then have adult conversation about progressing their relationship Sure there is passion seduction and intensity but it comes about when two adults have an instant attraction get to know each other and move on from there I'm not going to spoil the story for you because that would be mean but lest just stay that their HEA does not last from long external forces make sure of this and there is also the ghosts who seem to be trying to tell them both somethingI really enjoyed this book I read it uickly and the story flowed this way keeping me entertained and wanting This is a great not super intense book to read give it a try and enjoyJocelyn Kent it seemed was only the first scoop of the crazy sundae The butcher offered Mac a rabbit's foot he promised to was the genuine thing and she should put it on her key chain to ward off the ghost The baker passed her a bag of rock salt and told her to spread it across every threshold in her house to keep negativity from following her A mechanic from the local garage paused to help her load her groceries in the SUV and handed her of all things a horseshoe He told her to nail it over the doorway she used most often to ward off evil
