I love futuristic works and this one stands out among them I enjoyed this read and couldn't believe all the twists and turns The plot was also well written and well developedAmerica loses a lot of people and that can be hard on anyone But unlike most people she doesn't give up hope She stays strong no matter what fate throws at her including being forced into slavery She takes it and immediately starts trying to decipher how to get out But she doesn't stop there She starts working her mind as to how she can get everyone else outShe stands for Freedom and won't stop fighting until it's wonI'd recommend this book to those who love dystopia and futuristic novels I loved this one and will probably reread it over and over Excellent debut for Leigh Mitchell I look forward to from her

This was such an intriguing story I love the dystopian genre because we get to explore what humanities response would be the various catastrophes They serve as commentaries on society and Freedom Will Ring is no different The world as we know it had been destroyed by a nuclear war People are living spread out in various communities just trying to survive the people who will do anything to steal their freedom America is our young heroine She is too young to have been around for the war but has lived her entire life in an underground bunker After tragedy strikes she escapes with her brother and must face an outside world that she knows nothing of She is tough and mysterious She is angry and finds it hard to trust her new allies It isn't until she faces the possibility of everything being taken from her yet again that she lets herself care Emmett has his own tragic story His parents are dead but he has found a safe community for himself and his kid sister Surviving and protecting her is the only thing that matters until America shows up She changes everything This story threw my emotions into a meat grinder and that feeling didn't stop until the very end I was so invested that I cried during certain scenes and I am not a crier The book explores the theme that when the world goes to shit there will still be people who use others for their own means You'd think that with so few people left human life would mean to these people They throw people away for sport It was intense I'm looking forward to the next book because it'll be another emotional roller coaster America has been forced to do some unthinkable things but the book ends before we see her truly have to process what she's done There were some parts that dragged on for me but for the most part this was another great dystopian tale
