Picked this book up and couldn't put it down and found myself re reading it over the course of the next week by picking a chapter at random to guide the day It is a rare accomplishment that you can feel the soul of the author on every page but The Bare Melcessities is exactly what the title offers up the author strips down past the layers and limitations to reveal the essence of her humaness Here's to a terrific read and a brave retelling of a year spent starting over after divorce This book will help anyone from those going through a breakup to those people pleasers out there who are ready for change Bravo

WowThis writer really tells it like it is or how it needs to be She is very capable of outlining her situation and never flooding you with worthless details Her stories make me realize my stories and makes me understand that we are all fragile people on a big planetShe walk through many fires to get to this point and she is an inspiration On top of that she makes me reflect on how I am doing and what I need to do nextThank you for such a personal tale that makes me understand myself better

I won this book on Goodreads as a First Reads giveaway and wasn't sure what to expect It was a uick read with short chapters that were mainly musings and affirmations of moving forward It seemed at times to be almost like journal entries as the author lived through a particularly difficult period in her life And while I couldn't relate entirely I appreciated her efforts to break free from old molds and from unhealthy attitudes

This was a very insightful and to the point book about a challenge we will all face at some point in some way The author does a great job of baring her soul but not losing the reader in the way so many emotional recounts can do I appreciated the candor clarity and sense of camaraderie this text invoked
