    Before reading the final chapter I was going to give this book four stars a nice little book with some good insights but not always sticking closely to the chapter s theme nothing earth shattering Then I came to the last, and longest, chapter, and discovered the journey was well worthwhile The Sorrow of God was added later to the first six chapters that were derived from Lenten sermons This last chapter beautifully describes the eternal impact on the entire Trinity and us of Christ s su Before reading the final chapter I was going to give this book four stars a nice little book with some good insights but not always sticking closely to the chapter s theme nothing earth shattering Then I came to the last, and longest, chapter, and discovered the journey was well worthwhile The Sorrow of God was added later to the first six chapters that were derived from Lenten sermons This last chapter beautifully describes the eternal impact on the entire Trinity and us of Christ s suffering during His Passion I have never read anything quite like it worth the price of the book

    Very good little Lenten meditations, but also good during the year I m reading it the Third Week of Easter He reminds us well of the Passion s connection to the Resurrection, and not to isolate one from the other If we do so, we gain a certain freedom.
