Reading this second in a series after Chinatown Angel , I figured out the series hook each book is going to involve a childhood friend of the PI, Chico Santana CA was a real find last year sharp, literate, good plotting, endearing narrator I liked this one as well, although the prose read like an undercooked draft The plot and characters are strong, the pace breakneck, but the language needs some polish.
