It was hard to read this book sometimes Brutally honest A novel of spirituality and healing of a tortured soul who had her childhood stolen from her and a betrayal by the ones who were suppose to protect her Emily writes about a subject she is familiar with I cried and was appalled at what Hannah had went through and the long road to healing It was very hard to distinguish between the real facts and the story You are inside the mind of the child , the young adult and finally the woman Tak It was hard to read this book sometimes Brutally honest A novel of spirituality and healing of a tortured soul who had her childhood stolen from her and a betrayal by the ones who were suppose to protect her Emily writes about a subject she is familiar with I cried and was appalled at what Hannah had went through and the long road to healing It was very hard to distinguish between the real facts and the story You are inside the mind of the child , the young adult and finally the woman Take charge of your life don t let someone steal it from you is what I came away with Thank you Emily for your loving insight about an appalling sequence of events and your guide toward rediscovering your inner self

When I started reading this book, I was very concerned that It was going to be very depressing I was very happy to discover that this was not the case The book focuseson Hannah s life after the abuse then on the abuse that happened I thought this book did a great job of letting to see into the mind of an abused child and allowed you to understand the effect that abuse has over a person life My only problems with this book was that it was confusing I do not understand why Emily choose When I started reading this book, I was very concerned that It was going to be very depressing I was very happy to discover that this was not the case The book focuseson Hannah s life after the abuse then on the abuse that happened I thought this book did a great job of letting to see into the mind of an abused child and allowed you to understand the effect that abuse has over a person life My only problems with this book was that it was confusing I do not understand why Emily choose to write the book in both 3rd and 1st person It is hard to read something that keep changing points of view Also there was a section of the book that covered every relationship Hannah had in her life but it covered events that hadnt happened yet and then went back and explained them later It made it hard to read Over all I thought it was a decent book especially if you are in a scenario where this information might be useful I got this book for free from a goodreads giveaway

This was a psychologically intense novel based on true events that took some dedication to plow through but ultimately I m thankful that I made the journey with Emily Out of great respect for the author, I shut out the editor in my head and catalogued each section as topics rather than a sequential storyline With that came a realization of the author s voice, which dug into the psyche of someone that was raised by a mother with the same illness she had It was like enduring a root canal This was a psychologically intense novel based on true events that took some dedication to plow through but ultimately I m thankful that I made the journey with Emily Out of great respect for the author, I shut out the editor in my head and catalogued each section as topics rather than a sequential storyline With that came a realization of the author s voice, which dug into the psyche of someone that was raised by a mother with the same illness she had It was like enduring a root canal for me as a technical editor by profession, but I m so thankful that I pressed through the pages to mine the treasure waiting for me Surprisingly, I became deeply entrenched with Emily s story as she took me to places in my heart that I had shut the lights out on Dark places that I have never wanted to visit alone She was there with me in my very different story and I could feel a change coming over me A revelation and an enlightening of what it is to tell the truth and let it go In this case, the truth shall make you free When I finished this novel, I was shaking uncontrolled and had to shed some tears It felt like I had broken free from a cocoon after closing the pages I was unaware these emotions still held me I feel as if there has been a new metamorphosis within my own spirit and I m inspired to not only continue writing my story, but to share with others again So many times it has been so much easier to wrap myself up and hide away from interacting with others But, none of us can exist that way for long because it can kill us It s like pouring water from our well and remaining a flowing river For if we re not giving and sharing, we become stagnant and die.If Emily would like to take this self published novel and rewrite it with an editor, I believe it could be a national best seller This was full of psychotic writing about psychological issues but worth this Editor s effort to read The premise is there and the story is beautiful, worthy of a four star rating but I have to give it three for editorial issues I was surprised that my heart was moved so deeply Thank you for sharing with me Emily, I look forward to our correspondence in writing emails

my overall impression of this book, it was difficult to read and was a little disjointed and hard to follow I had a difficult time with her writing style What i enjoyed about the book was being able to see and understand her thought process especially when she was in her promiscuous stage and also when she was having a psychotic break It was very real and eye opening.I appreciate her honesty in the book I am sure it was very cathartic for her to write it Still not sure if I would recommend my overall impression of this book, it was difficult to read and was a little disjointed and hard to follow I had a difficult time with her writing style What i enjoyed about the book was being able to see and understand her thought process especially when she was in her promiscuous stage and also when she was having a psychotic break It was very real and eye opening.I appreciate her honesty in the book I am sure it was very cathartic for her to write it Still not sure if I would recommend the book I might for someone who is interested in psychology to understand what might go through someones head

Butterfly Woman is a tale of a girl who grew up with a mother with a mental illness As she gets older she begins to show signs of mental illness herself Even though the subject matter is difficult to read at times, it is a great insight to what is going on in the mind.
