This book provides a good overview of Barbara Hepworth s work in picture I found the text less satisfying It was too sketchy and superficial The descriptions and explanations of the works were brief and written in rather obtuse language not completely comprehensible to readers who haven t studied art at college The potted biography skates over discussing important events in her life, particularly her relationships, which would have had a influence on her work.

I ve got many of these Thames Hudson art books For around 10 dollars you get a really good overview with lots of good prints The text is a variable feast however Sometimes its a pleasure to read, sometimes its very dry, art theory intense This one tends towards the latter category I ve got many of these Thames Hudson art books For around 10 dollars you get a really good overview with lots of good prints The text is a variable feast however Sometimes its a pleasure to read, sometimes its very dry, art theory intense This one tends towards the latter category

Excellent concise approach to a remarkable person The impression of peace and connection that her work conveys is movingly explored.
