So much of Epperly's analysis has had a major impact on my own views of and interpretations of Montgomery's work Reading this for the probably third time with my own research regarding windows in mind meant I noticed different things One of the seminal Montgomery literary criticism books

  2. Jessica Jessica says:

I'm only a few chapters in and enjoying this book so much; each chapter seems to build on what's come before deepening the analysis in a way that's accessible and congruent Epperly is deeply engaged with Montgomery's photography practice in a way that is still rare in scholarship treating it as a deliberate body of work to be balanced against the visual tropes that recur again and again in Montgomery's writing expanding the idea of metaphor and opening up new possibilities for research

  3. Shelley Shelley says:

An analysis of LM Montgomgery's photography and how it related to her writing So so so dry So dry I skimmed A lot It was interesting though she was a very visual person even thinking in visuals which absolutely translates to her writing She brings worlds alive with her descriptions and that's part of the allure of PEI She wrote an article on photography in about 1902 where she writes that the best way to test a friendship is to take their photo and if they forgive you they are true blue It could have been written for Facebook users ha Also the list of sources was fascinating I really want to read the article TextualSexual Spaces in The Blue Castle by Gabriella Ahmannson also the author of A Life and Its Mirrors
